she crawls across a midnight floor
as he beckons in the silence
upon her back or knee's to serve
his need of blood thru violence
Time retreats and reconfigures
in the thick dread of needing
his call for blood is answered thus
on knee's scratched and bleeding
her throat a curve of soft delight
a fountain upon which to feed
she offers trust and he promises life
and carefully controls his need
In delicate sips he drinks her in
her blood warm and sweet
he is falling in love and feels alive
and his heart begins to beat
